What are the benefits of MVP Service?

When you sign up for MVP Service, you can choose to receive emails letting you know the winning numbers for LOTTO MAX and WESTERN MAX, and LOTTO 6/49 and WESTERN 649 right after the draw, as well as alerts about the upcoming jackpot amounts for LOTTO MAX and LOTTO 6/49. You also have the option of receiving email notifications about special offers and promotions.

    • What is the LOTTO MAX Dream Big Contest?

      • In addition to offering the largest jackpots in Canada, LOTTO MAX is now giving players the chance to win even more prizes with the LOTTO MAX Dream Big Contest.
      • From September 5 to October 21, 2024, the LOTTO MAX Dream Big Contest will give players extra chances to win cash prizes with each LOTTO MAX ticket they purchase.
      • Earn 1 entry for each $1 spent on LOTTO MAX for the chance to win weekly prizes of $10,000 or the grand prize of $1 million.
    • What are the prizes available to be won?

      The LOTTO MAX Dream Big Contest offers players the chance to win 30 weekly prizes of $10,000 or the grand prize of $1 million.
    • How do I participate in the LOTTO MAX Dream Big Contest?

      From September 5 to October 21, 2024, players earn entries from their eligible LOTTO MAX purchases. Method of entry depends on how ticket is purchased; see below for details on how to enter. Players will receive one entry for every $1 spent on Lotto Max, so every $5 ticket will deliver five entries.
    • How do I enter?

      • Retail and Lotto Spot App purchases:
        • Enter eligible winning and non-winning LOTTO MAX tickets purchased at retail or on the Lotto Spot app.
        • Log in or sign up for an MVP account and click Enter Tickets on the WCLC Dream Big Contest site. Enter the unique 18-digit ticket control number from the LOTTO MAX ticket.
        • Players will also be able to scan their retail LOTTO MAX ticket on the WCLC Dream Big Contest site using their mobile device camera to enter the LOTTO MAX ticket in the contest. Players will need to allow the WCLC Dream Big Contest site access to their mobile device camera in order to scan the ticket.
          • Players must complete all required fields on the entry form to receive entries and ensure that the information in all fields is correct. Any incorrect ticket information submitted will result in disqualification.
          • Players can view the number of entries from retail or Lotto Spot app ticket purchases in their MVP Account.
          • Players must keep their LOTTO MAX tickets in order to claim a prize.
      • PlayNow purchases:
        • Earn entries from eligible LOTTO MAX purchases on playnow.com by signing in or registering for a PlayNow account and opting in by entering a promo code.
        • After opt-in, all eligible LOTTO MAX PlayNow purchases will automatically be entered into the Dream Big Event.
        • Entries will go toward the weekly draw according to the date they were entered. All entries will be eligible for the grand prize draw.
          • By purchasing LOTTO MAX online on PlayNow, players consent to entering the event.
        • Please allow up to seven business days after purchase for entries to appear on your PlayNow My Promotions Page. Participants will be able to track the status of earning entries from their PlayNow purchases on their Promotions History page when they are signed into their account.
      • Play Alberta purchases:
        • Sign in or register for a Play Alberta account and earn Dream Big Event entries from eligible LOTTO MAX purchases on Play Alberta.
        • See Play Alberta’s entry rules here.
        • By purchasing Lotto Max online on Play Alberta, players consent to entering the Dream Big Event.
        • All eligible Lotto Max Play Alberta purchases will be entered automatically into the Dream Big Event.
        • Entries will go toward the weekly draw according to the date they were entered. All entries will be eligible for the grand prize draw.
      • Subscription Spot and mail subscriptions:
        • Tickets purchased during the contest period will be automatically entered.
    • What if I don’t have an online account?

      • Any LOTTO MAX ticket purchased at retail or on the Lotto Spot app needs to be manually entered in the contest via MVP account.
      • Creating an online account is easy and can be done anytime to participate.
      • Visit wclc.com for more information on creating your account.
      • Call Player Care at 1-800-665-3313 if you need further assistance.
    • Do I need to keep the tickets I entered in the contest in order to win?

      Yes, you should hold on to every ticket you enter. All entries will be verified to ensure they are valid tickets. If your entry is drawn for one of the contest prizes, you must present your ticket to WCLC to be declared the winner.
    • How do I know the number of entries I have in the contest?

      • RETAIL or LOTTO SPOT APP ticket purchases: Entries will be listed on the player’s MVP Account.
      • PlayNow ticket purchases: Entries are assigned to the draw for the week in which they are purchased; please allow up to seven days for the entries to appear on your PlayNow "My Promotions" page.
      • Play Alberta ticket purchases: Entries are assigned to the draw for the week in which they are purchased; however, the number of entries will not be displayed in your Play Alberta account.
      • SUBSCRIPTION SPOT and MAIL SUBSCRIPTION purchases: Entries are assigned to the draw for the week in which they are purchased; for questions on entries earned through subscription purchases please contact WCLC’s Player Care at 1-800-665-3313 or playercare@wclc.com.
    • Where is the LOTTO MAX Dream Big Contest available?

      • The LOTTO MAX Dream Big Contest is available in every province and territory across Canada.
      • Tickets purchased at retail in Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut or on the Lotto Spot app must be entered through an MVP account.
    • What tickets are eligible?

      • LOTTO MAX tickets purchased during the event period of Sept. 5-October 21 (with the exception of Free Plays), both at retail and online, are eligible to be entered in the LOTTO MAX Dream Big Event.
      • Players will receive one entry for every $1 spent on LOTTO MAX, so every $5 ticket will deliver five entries.
    • Are free plays eligible for the contest?

      No, free plays won on a previous ticket are not eligible for the contest. Only LOTTO MAX tickets purchased during the event period are eligible for entry.
    • Are tickets purchased by a subscription eligible for the Dream Big Contest?

      Yes, LOTTO MAX subscription selections will be automatically entered for the contest draw occurring for each draw being played on the subscription.
    • Are tickets purchased through Advance Play eligible?

      • Yes, Advance Play tickets purchased during the contest period are eligible to be entered for the ticket's full LOTTO MAX dollar value even if draws on the ticket extend past the contest end date.
      • Advance Play tickets purchased before the contest start date are not eligible, even if the draw date falls within the contest period.
    • Which provinces/territories are participating in the LOTTO MAX Dream Big Contest?

      All Canadian lottery jurisdictions are participating.
    • Is there any cost to enter?

      • No, there is no additional cost to participate, beyond the cost of your LOTTO MAX tickets and plays. Every LOTTO MAX ticket purchased during the event period is eligible to be entered in the Dream Big Event.
      • A no-purchase option is also available.
      • To request an entry without the purchase of a LOTTO MAX ticket (NPN), you must complete the following steps:
        • Write a unique, original, and handwritten essay of 100 words or more on the subject “What I would do if I won one million dollars” on a plain white piece of paper.
        • Clearly print the words “LOTTO MAX DREAM BIG CONTEST” with the email address associated with your MVP account, your first and last name, date of birth, phone number and complete mailing address (including postal code) essay.
        • Mail all of the above in an envelope marked “Western Canada Lottery Corporation (c/o Lotto Max Dream Big Event)” (with sufficient postage) to 6910-50th Avenue, Postal Bag 649, Stettler, AB T0C 2L0.
      • Essays must be received by WCLC by October 15, 2024, to be processed before the contest closing date of 3:00 pm ET on Monday, October 21, 2024.
      • Five (5) LOTTO MAX No Purchase Necessary (NPN) entries will be provided per posted request.
      • To be eligible, each request must: (i) be received separately in an envelope bearing sufficient postage; (ii) include all details noted in Section 1 above; and (iii) be post-marked during the Contest Period and be received no later than October 15, 2024 (to allow sufficient time for the contest administrator to assign the entries).

    • Can a player save up entries and put them all in a later week’s draw?

      • For tickets purchased at Lotto Spot retailers or through the Lotto Spot app: Yes, you can choose the week you want to enter your selections for. Tickets purchased at retail or on the Lotto Spot app are entered into the contest for the week you manually enter them into the contest site.
      • For all other play types, it is not possible to select the week of entry.
        • Tickets purchased on PlayNow and Play Alberta are entered into the contest the week in which they are purchased by the participant.
        • Tickets purchased by subscription (mail or Subscription Spot) will automatically be entered into the contest for the week of the purchased selection’s draw.
    • Why are you doing this?

      • The LOTTO MAX Dream Big Contest was developed using feedback from players.
      • In addition to offering the largest jackpots in Canada, LOTTO MAX players have told us they would enjoy even more chances to win prizes and this contest is designed to provide them with added value for every LOTTO MAX purchase.
    • Why is it just for six weeks? Will it happen again?

      • We are always developing new contests and promotions for players to enjoy. If this contest is successful, we will absolutely look into doing similar contests in the future.
    • Can lottery retailers participate?

      • Lottery retailers cannot participate in the second chance draw if the ticket is purchased at retail.
      • Lottery retailers may participate in the contest if they purchase a ticket online (Lotto Spot app, Play Alberta, PlayNow or by subscription – mail or Subscription Spot).
    • Can lottery employees participate in the second chance draw?

      No, lottery employees (and all household members – related or not) may not participate in the second chance draw.
    • Will the personal information that I provide be shared?

      • We take the protection of our players’ privacy very seriously. Information about you will only be shared outside WCLC for the purposes of verifying, contacting, and announcing winners on the contest.
      • In that case, personal information such as your name and city/town of residence will be visible on the winner section of the contest website once the prize has been fulfilled.
      • No personal information will be shared for non-winners and no private data will be shared with ILC or other lottery regions.
    • When will the winners be announced?

      Weekly and grand prize winners will be posted on the Winners page on this website as each winning entry is confirmed.
    • When will winners be contacted?

      Potential winners will be contacted by WCLC as soon as reasonably possible following the applicable weekly Draw Date (first draw held September 20, 2024) or the Grand Prize Draw Date to be held October 25, 2024. If the potential winner’s eligibility information and declaration and release is not received within five (5) business days after the Initial Contact, the entry will be disqualified.
    • How long will it take to receive my prize?

      It will take approximately five (5) business days to contact and validate a winner, and then up to 5 additional business days to get their cheque to them. We know this can feel like a long time, and we thank all our winners for their patience!

    • Where can players find winners information?

      Weekly and grand prize winners will be posted on this website on the Winners page as each winning entry is confirmed.
    • What are the odds of winning a prize in this contest?

      • The odds of winning a prize in a weekly draw is dependent on the total number of valid/eligible contest entries during the applicable weekly entry period.
      • The odds of winning the $1 million grand prize is dependent on the total number of valid/eligible contest entries during the Event Entry Period.

    • What if I damage my ticket?

      • Hold on to all LOTTO MAX tickets entered throughout the contest, even if it is damaged, as no prize can be paid without the original ticket from the selection drawn for the prize.
      • Players must have a ticket with a legible control number in order to enter the contest.
      • Winners will have to present the ticket to claim any prize, and WCLC must be able to verify that the ticket is eligible and matches the contest entry.
    • Who do I call if I have questions about the contest?

      • For general contest details or questions about tickets purchased at retail or on the Lotto Spot app, please call or email WCLC’s Player Care at 1-800-665-3313 or playercare@wclc.com.
      • Tickets purchased on PlayNow: Please call PlayNow’s Customer Support team at 1-877-706-6789
      • Tickets purchased on Play Alberta: Please call Play Alberta’s Call Centre at 1-833-920-1447
    • How will I know if my PlayNow or Play Alberta ticket was entered in the contest?

      • PLAYNOW ticket purchases: Contest entries automatically will appear on the ‘My Promotions Page’ on the PlayNow site. Please allow up to seven days for the entries to appear.
      • Play Alberta ticket purchases: LOTTO MAX purchases are automatically entered into the contest, and you receive one entry for every $1 purchased on LOTTO MAX. Entries are assigned to the draw for the week of purchase; however, Play Alberta entries are not displayed on this site.
      • Players can call the appropriate number listed above to go over contest entries.
    • Can I participate in the contest with a group-played ticket?

      • An MVP account can only be held by a single individual. However, we recognize that some groups may choose to enter their tickets via a single member’s account.
      • The representative (MVP Service account holder) will be contacted if the group’s contest entry wins.
      • It is the responsibility of the MVP/contest account holder to divide the prize accordingly.
      • WCLC assumes no responsibility or liability for any group contest entries.
  • Registration and Logging In

    • Can I register more than once?

      No. More than one registration per person will make all entries submitted invalid. If you have any trouble registering or logging in, please contact us.
    • Can I use my MVP Service Account to log into the LOTTO MAX Dream Big Contest?

      Yes, you can log in using that email address and password. When you first log in, you will be shown your existing profile. If the information is correct, simply accept the contest Rules & Regulations to enter the contest; if the information is out of date, click ‘Edit Profile’ to update your information. It is important that your MVP Account has your latest contact information in case if you are chosen as a potential winner.
    • Why am I getting the error message “Your email address is already in use” when I try to register for this contest?

      There are two possible reasons:

      1. You or someone else in your household has registered for the contest using that email address. An email address cannot be used with more than one player profile.
      2. You have previously signed up to MVP Service and already have an account.
    • Why can't I log in? The site is not recognizing my information.

      You may have entered your email address or password incorrectly. Please verify your email address and password and try again. Make sure there are no spaces and that Caps Lock is turned off. If you continue to have an issue, go to the Forgot Log In page.
    • What if I forgot my password?

      If you've already registered for this contest (or signed up to MVP Service) and have forgotten your password, go to the Forgot Log In page.
    • What if I forgot the answer to my security question?

      If you have forgotten the answer to your security question or are having log in issues, please contact us for assistance. Remember, you have to enter your security answer exactly the way you originally registered it, including all spaces, numbers, symbols, etc.
    • I do not remember the email address I signed up with. What should I do?

      Do not register again. Please contact us for assistance.

    • How do I change the phone number, email address or other information I registered with?

      Log in with your old email address, and then select the Edit link from the account page to update your account information.
